students.  Poor sportsmanship towards each other and/or other schools will

   NOT be tolerated.

_ The main focus of competition is to let the kids perform and have a great

time.  As long as they have done their best, we could not be any prouder.

Please know all results of the judges are three people’s opinions on one

particular day.  We must respect the judges, please keep all personal

feelings about results to yourself.  Whether we agree or not, we are proud

of how far these kids have come this year.

_ Lori is available to guide and help you at competitions.  If you have questions or concerns about the upcoming dates, please feel free to email me at any time.  However, at the competitions, it will be extremely hectic.  I will do my best to answer any questions, but please be as prepared as possible beforehand to ensure a smooth weekend.

Legacy General Stage Make-up

*This is the general stage makeup that should be worn by ALL for the Legacy Dress Rehearsal!  It will also be worn for the Recital and Dress Rehearsals for Recital.

(This can all be purchased at Merle Norman on Rte. 31. Just tell them you are picking up the Premiere Dance of Flemington Makeup. They will know what you need.)

If an individual dance requires general stage makeup, follow these directions at competition.  All individual dance hair and makeup will follow.

Ladies’ General Stage Makeup:

Eyeshadow colors: Merle Norman: Grapevine Eyecolor #15511, Chamois Eyecolor #15513, Chocolate #14141

Lip color: Merle Norman:  Lipliner and lipstick in one:  Plum

Blush:  Merle Norman Bare Mauve Cheekcolor #05414

After applying foundation to face AND neck and blending in pressed powder, it is time to apply the false eyelashes.  Do this before applying eyeshadow because you may get extra glue on your lids that needs to be wiped off before applying the eyeshadow.  Draw a thin line of glue on the eyelash.  Apply as close to your natural eyelash line as possible ending a little farther out than your eyes.  This will make eyes appear bigger.  Allow glue to dry before putting on eyeshadow.  Begin by applying the lightest shade, “Chamois” over the whole lid, but a little beneath the brow bone.  Apply the dark brown “Chocolate” Color on the lid.  Also, blend the brown “Chocolate” and a deep purple "Grapevine” into the outer creases of the eye.  Be aware you are not putting make-up on for everyday wear, it must be darker than you are used to.  After eyeshadow is blended, line eyes with a black eyeliner, again drawing the liner out a little farther in outer corner than the eye’s natural end.  Apply black mascara to upper and lower lashes.  Careful to wipe off all smudges.  Apply the blush over cheekbones and the bridge of your nose.  Use the “Bare Mauve” cheekcolor.  Next apply lipliner, lipstick, and gloss.

General note:  The women’s makeup will look darker to show up under the bright stage lights.  It should be applied heavily.

Hair for Ladies:  Hair in a low ponytail (nape of neck), part over left eye.  Hair must be pulled tight away from face without bangs using hair product and bobby pins.  Use hair spray and gel to secure loose, flyaway hair.

Gentlemen’s General Stage Makeup

Apply foundation a little bit darker than the skin tone to neck and face.  Men should wear a paler blush color than the women.  It should look naturally rosy and be streaked over the cheekbones, over the nose and onto the forehead.  For the eyes, the men should wear a white/cream shadow used along the brow bone, under the eyebrow, and under the eye.  This should be well blended. Next, a color that’s a little darker than skin tone, a brown color, is brushed over the eye, just above the eyelid, but below the brow bone.  This is also blended beneath the eye as a liner.  For the lips, men should choose a color which is only a bit darker than their usual lip color.

General note:  The men’s makeup will look more natural than the ladies’ makeup.
